When people call Team Minato, “Old Team Seven,” “Original Team Seven,” or just plain “Team Seven.” No, no, no. Teams were not classified by numbers then as they are in Naruto’s age. You can tell this by the time that Minato states to Kakashi, “Kakashi will be your captain, making Team Kakashi.” They use first names to indicate Team names. Team Minato is their team name, and that’s that. 

Also, when you say “Old Team Seven” or “Original Team Seven,” it’s like you’re implying that they are exactly the same as Team Seven, when that is really not true. Yes, Team MInato takes after Team Seven, but they aren’t carbon copies of it. No team in Naruto is exactly like Team Seven, because they are bluntly different teams. 

Sakura practically drools over Sasuke, but Rin is quiet and collected about her crush with silent adoration. She never screeches, “KAKASHI-KUN!” or anything like that. Rin never punches anybody, and she isn’t as talented a medical ninja as Sakura. They are two different people, guys.

Obito is actually a calmer version of Naruto, and his nature is more mature. (Or at least, in Gaiden. Kishi kind of screwed that in current chapters.) He’s also not as flirty with Rin, he’s very silent and sweet with his interest in her. He isn’t disgusting, either, like Naruto in part one, and not to mention he’s not as rude to Kakashi as Naruto is with Sasuke.

Sasuke and Kakashi… are two different worlds. Sasuke brushed people away to focus on his goal of killing Itachi- Kakashi brushes people away because he is arrogant and views others as lower than him. Minato states this when Obito confides in him, and Kakashi says it himself in Generations. (Video game.) Kakashi also has a distaste for everybody, and his heart does not simply warm- up for any of the people (like Sasuke did to Naruto) until Obito dies. His character is also stoic, but Sasuke actually expresses irritation rather frequently, and insults Naruto much more frequently as opposed to Kakashi, who is rather uncaring. 

Just… stop. Don’t call the two teams the same… it’s true that there expansive feels in the way that Team Minato is similar to Team Seven, but they still aren’t exactly the same, and when you say Old Team Seven, you are acting like they are, not to mention you just don’t have your facts straight. So can we just all agree on calling them Team Minato? ‘Kay thanks.
